Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

What we collect

Featherly collects the information needed to run the app: your account details when you sign in with Apple or Google (name, email, and a display handle you choose), photos you submit for bird identification or the monthly contest, your approximate region for the BirdDex species list and national leaderboard, and your subscription status.

How photos are used

Photos you submit for identification are sent securely to an AI service to recognise the bird and are not used to train AI models. Contest photos you enter are stored in the cloud and shown to other Featherly users as part of the Photo of the Month contest.

Location

Your location is used only to suggest the right regional bird catalogue and place you on the correct national leaderboard. Precise location is never shared with other users.

Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We never see or store your payment details.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not show third-party ads.

Your choices

You can sign out at any time from your account screen. You can remove your contest entry during the active month. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at featherlyapp@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will note it in the app.
